Just as people occasionally have problems with digestion, pet dogs may also suffer from upset stomachs from time to time.
However, this can easily be negated in many cases with a little bit of plain yogurt, according to one pet health care professional.
Writing for the Capital, Dr Francine Rattner explained that the enzymes within a live culture of this dairy product are second to none when it comes to sorting out bad intestinal bacteria from the good.
What's more, it is known to decrease painful and unpleasant gas, she added.
If owners see no improvement or the situation begins to get worse, a veterinarian should always be consulted, if only to prescribe an animal-specific type of probiotic product, Dr Rattner advised.
Furthermore, when people are changing their pets' diet, it should be done slowly and a step at a time to reduce the chances of causing an upset stomach.
